Excellent
In the area of Catherineberg, where there aren't many moderately priced
villas for rent, we felt Cinnamon Tarn is one of the best values of
all in the area.
It is about a ten-minute drive
from Cruz Bay via Centerline and John's Head road. The driveway from
the road is fairly narrow and uphill, but once you get up there, it
is easy parking around the fishpond. The villa is very private and
well maintained. It has an airy great room and a well-equipped kitchen,
and beyond them there is a breezeway with a dining table. The breezeway
leads to the deck with a large hot tub, but since there aren't really
shady areas during the day on the deck, we spent most of our time
inside the villa. The villa has an open feel to it and the breezeway
works more like a screened porch, so we never felt cooped up. The
cover for the hot tub was falling apart and the new one was supposed
to be on its way.
There is no a/c in the villa but
we never needed it - the combination of breezes and ceiling fans made
us feel quite comfortable.
Master bedrooms are located on
each end of the breezeway. The symphony of insects and frogs is pretty
loud at night and you hear some birds squawking early in the morning.
If you are a light sleeper, that may affect your sleep.
The highlight of our stay at this
rather casual yet beautiful villa was, no doubt, the views of Cinnamon
Bay, Francis Bay & Mary Point, and BVI. The villa has screened
sliding doors that open up the whole backside (or it may be called
the front side) of the house to the absolutely gorgeous views!
Lisa (Vacation Vistas) is great
to deal with. We are very happy with her personal service and would
love to rent from her again.

My Husband and I just
returned this week from our 8 day stay in St. John.
The view from Cinnimon Tarn villa
was so outstanding, that I took so many pictures, that I ran out of
memory in my camera. As soon as we stepped into the villa, we knew
what a beauty it is.I will miss waking up to the view and the ocean
and the smell of the beautiful garden.
We had celebrated our 5th wedding
anniversary while in St. John on our last day of our visit. 5 years
ago, we got married on Cinnamon Bay, so to return 5 years later and
stay at Cinnamon Tarn was such a joy. We will be back, but hopefully
will not have to wait another 5 years.

We had the most relaxing time staying at Cinnamon Tarn for our Honeymoon
on St John. The pictures of both the villa and the views from the
villa do not even come close to doing them justice. The views from
the bedrooms and the main balcony all day long are breath-taking.
We couldn't take enough pictures (over 900) as we wanted to remember
the wonderful stay we had. The temperature was perfect in the villa
throughout the day and night even with no air conditioning. This being
our first time on St John we obviously had to try everything out...
well, we found that to be impossible, so we decided to come back once
a year. And believe me, it will be with Lisa here at Vacation Vistas
every time! Everything went so smoothly... you're the best! Thanks
for everything!
Best wishes,
Scott and Sasha T.
